D&M Utilities Ltd

Alpha Swanson were first appointed by D&M Utilities in February 2015, to provide competent health & safety support service. After about 18 months of providing such support, D&M Utilities decided that they needed UKAS accredited certifications to ISO9001, ISO14001 and OHSAS18001 to support their growth ambitions.

The project to achieve these certifications commenced in October 2016, and followed the standard Alpha Swanson pattern of data collection and system drafting, which is focused on producing a meaningful bespoke management system, as opposed to an ‘off the shelf’ solution, as well as internal auditing support, management review and employee awareness training. Alpha Swanson also assisted D&M Utilities to select a suitable UKAS accredited certification body, and supported them through the successful certification process in April 2017.

Since then, we are delighted to have been reappointed twice by D&M Utilities to assist them maintain and improve an effective management system, and thereby retain their certifications, and provide them with competent health & safety support. Alpha Swanson are keen promoters of a yearly contract renewal process, as they are firm believers that tying clients into longer contractual periods often does not work in the client’s best interest. This is an approach that our clients appear to value, as it provides them with tangible choice and keeps us on our toes! The fact that many of our clients choose to renew with us on this basis would seem to support this view.
